Fourteen "trailblazers" (Vic, Shelly, Chuck, Jos, Sandra A, Susan S, Ruth, Kevin, Tom, Karen from High River, Erik, Ted, Mary, with John as our fearless leader) met at the Roadhouse in High River to run the Funship Run, the new proposed part of the Friendship route starting in High River. John McKillop flagged the course and built a bridge over the Creek on his brothers property. Jos suggested that John should put up a sign at the bridge saying: "One runner at the time"! Chuck and another runner ran all the way back to Okotoks, hopefully they arrived back in Okotoks before sunset. Most of us did an "out and back" on the new course and ended up at the Roadhouse for coffee. Reviews by the runners of the new course were very positive and it should be a great run in May! Jos' opinion is that this alternative route should be the new one for the future, as it is less dangerous and runs through the beautiful country side of Alberta. And all this enthusiasm was shared with a cup of coffee, served by John.
